Back Announces Tom Durkin as Spokesperson in New Advertising Campaign

Saratoga Springs, New York – On Friday, RateGator announced that Tom Durkin – the legendary sportscaster best known as the voice of the New York Racing Association – as the company’s first-ever celebrity spokesperson. Beginning on August 1st, Tom will lend his voice to RateGator’s horseracing themed radio spots.

Durkin, who rose to fame as the Breeders Cup’s chief television voice and for the decade he spent calling horseracing’s Triple Crown races for NBC, has been a fixture at both Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course for roughly a quarter century.“Being from a horseracing town, I couldn’t be happier having Tom as the voice of our brand,” says Shawn Murrane, founder of RateGator. “Having founded RateGator in a town that is synonymous with thoroughbred racing, asking Tom to be our spokesperson was a no-brainer. He is one of those voices that everyone immediately recognizes. For such a young company, we are lucky to have him.”

Going forward, Tom will be a central figure in RateGator’s overall marketing strategy. He will be featured in RateGator commercials through the Saratoga meet. In addition to Saratoga, RateGator’s national campaign is set to include ads tailored for the Breeders’ Cup, Kentucky Derby, and Belmont Stakes.
